While publishing, the button shows **Publishing...**. #### Choose locale scope (multi-locale sites) If the site has multiple locales, a dialog asks **Publish item in which locales?** Choose **Current locale only** or **All locales**. #### Confirm reference warnings if shown If draft references are detected, you may see **Publish with draft references?** Confirm to proceed or cancel to fix references first. ## Site must be published first If the Webflow site has never been published, the **Publish** button is disabled. Hover to see the tooltip: > Publish site to enable item publishing Publish the site in Webflow at least once before you can publish individual CMS items from Wicked CMS. ## Publish vs. save vs. queue | Action | Effect | | ------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Save** | Saves changes as draft; site content unchanged | | **Publish** | Makes changes live immediately | | **Queue for next site publish** | Schedules changes for the next site-wide publish. See [Queue for site publish](/queue-for-site-publish). | ## Multi-locale publishing On multi-locale sites, choose: * **Current locale only:** publish the item in the locale you are viewing * **All locales:** publish the item in every locale on the site See [Locale-scoped actions](/locale-scoped-actions) for more on locale scope dialogs. ## After publishing The item status updates to **Published** and publish state shows **Live**. Changed-field highlights are cleared for published values.
