Crop, resize, and convert an image before applying it. Click **Edit** (pencil) to edit an existing image. You can also set alt text, position, size, and caption. * **HTML embeds:** insert custom embed code * A **fullscreen** toggle for distraction-free editing * **Character and word count** plus estimated **read time** at the bottom of the editor. The counts update as you type. * **Import from Markdown or Word:** open **More options** (⋯) on the toolbar and choose a `.md`, `.markdown`, or `.docx` file. The import replaces the current field content. Wicked CMS asks for confirmation if the field already has text. Use the toolbar buttons to format content. Changes are saved when you click **Save** or published with **Publish**. ## Reference fields Reference and multi-reference fields show a picker tied to the target collection defined in your Webflow schema. You can search and select linked items. Reference labels use the linked item's display name and **Live** or **Draft** status. Click **Edit** (pencil) next to a linked item to open it in the detail sheet while keeping the current item open. On **Multi-reference** fields, each row includes **Edit** and **Remove** controls and can be reordered with drag handles. Click **Back** to return to the parent item. ## Asset fields (image and file) Image fields open an **Upload** or **Replace** dialog where you can **Upload** a file, **Paste a link**, or **Paste an image** from your clipboard. When you add or replace an image, the **Edit image** dialog opens so you can **crop**, **resize**, and **convert** the file before it is added to the field. For images already in the field, click **Edit** (pencil) to reopen the editor. In **Multi-image** fields, images within the upload limit are added directly; larger images open **Edit image** automatically. Each image row includes **Edit**, **Replace**, and **Remove**. The editor supports **Keep original**, **WebP**, and **JPEG** formats, with adjustable **Quality** for WebP and JPEG. The **Original** and **Output** summary shows file size and dimensions. File upload is the default source. For images you can also set alt text. File fields still use file upload only. Added assets are associated with the item when you save or publish. To browse or organize the site asset library outside a CMS item, switch to **Assets** in the sidebar. See [Manage assets](/manage-assets). ## Read-only fields Some fields cannot be edited in Wicked CMS and appear disabled. These are typically system-managed or unsupported field configurations. ## Validation Required fields and invalid values show validation errors on the field. Fix errors before saving or publishing. ## Slug field The **slug** field automatically normalizes input to valid Webflow slug format as you type. When the collection has a detail page path, a read-only path preview appears below the slug.
